I hope you had as much fun browsing "Return to Love with Nana Mouskouri" dedicated to "The Legend, the Lady" as much as I had in creating it.

It doesn't matter how many LPs, EPs, cassettes, CDs, videos & DVDs you own of Nana's songs, the number of interviews you've heard or seen, the articles you've read about her, the photos you've viewed or how many concerts you've attended; it doesn't matter in what language she is singing - it is to what extent the sincerity and love in her voice, and the message in her songs, has touched your heart, that really counts.

I inherited the love of music and my singing voice from my late dad, Major Douglas Chapman, a talented violinist and a powerful tenor. Growing up I remember hearing his wide collection of classical records playing in the background, in our home. Recognising my gift of a not so ordinary singing voice, and my keenness to sing, my parents sent me for classical voice training classes. I'm happy to say I've received a few singing prizes, which I'm quite proud of.

As I grew older my preference of music leant toward semi-classical, pop, country and folk music, so when I first heard the incredible voice of Nana Mouskouri on radio almost 30 years ago, I just fell instantly in love with it, and have been singing along to her music ever since. My appreciation was further enhanced with the availability of her cassettes and the TV series "Nana & Guests". I'm grateful for my classical training which has enabled me to really fathom her versatility. I have never ceased to be fascinated by the emotions Nana expresses in her songs, about every day events - a lost love or a new found one, or more serious issues of war and peace. One of my favourites would definitely have to be "I Don't Want To Say Goodbye" - I love it just because it's so simple and so sincere . . . .

I created this site for Nana to reciprocate the love she has given to me and my family, through her songs, and continues to give us.

My grateful thanks to fans who have extended your love, support and kindness to me, and for your contribution to this site over the past few years - you keep my spirits high, with your gracious emails "When times get rough", and trust me there have been many!

I'm sure you will have your own stories and experiences to share with me - feel free to drop me an email and/or sign my Dreambook and let me know how Nana has touched your heart & soul.

Lots of love from Down Under,

Maryse
