Timeless singer, timeless songs

"Music for me was like
many rainbows, filled
with many, many colours."

- Nana Mouskouri -

Concerts

Review of Nana's concert at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday, 04 September 2005, at 8 pm
- Michele, Wellington, New Zealand

It doesn't matter what the weather is doing as it's been changeable. Nana Mouskouri always "Turns on the Sun" the minute she steps on stage.

Sunday night's concert was great. She talked about being expelled from the conservatoire and that she got into jazz etc., and how Quincy Jones invited her to the USA, and said that she could go further. "When God closes a small door, somewhere else He opens a big gate".

She was in good form and voice. A personal highlight for me was "Over the Rainbow" when she held the microphone away for effect. Everybody went still and then she brought it back to normal position, to finish it magically.

Nana was still magical. She hasn't changed much and still holds her loyal fans spellbound. We didn't want to let her go.
