Nana at the Founders Theatre
- Waikato Times - Hamilton, New Zealand May 1, 1985
It's been 11 years since Nana Mouskouri last visited New Zealand. She admits that sometimes she gets tired of the image people have become used to. "I think I am going to change so I try another hairstyle but it doesn't look good. And new glasses don't look as good. My face, I feel is okay. All through the years I was honest and authentic. I still want people to think that way about me. Mouskouri arrived in New Zealand on Tuesday and had two free days in Auckland before travelling to Hamilton for her first concert tonight. Last time she performed once only in Christchurch and Auckland. This time she will be in the country almost a fortnight, with concerts in six centres. She said she's glad to have more time to see New Zealand. "I remember it was a beautiful country. I think it is exciting to go to a place you have not been for years." Miss Mouskouri says her music aims to express her feelings about life - love, truth, peace. "What I look for myself comes out in my music" She says she has no thoughts of retiring as long as people want to hear her in the future. She would like to make a film, maybe a musical. But meantime there are concerts to do and people to sing for. |
